Confidence Score
Short definition
A 0–100 read of how much is actually known about a lead, separate from its grade, which says how good the lead is.
01In practice
How teams actually use it.
Confidence answers a different question from the grade. The grade says how good a lead looks; confidence says how much information that judgement rests on. A lead with a company, a designation, a location and a budget can be graded with some assurance. A lead with a first name and a mobile number might be the best opportunity in the pipeline, and the honest position is that there is not yet enough to say, scoring it low would claim it is weak, which is a different and less truthful statement than admitting ignorance. Leadkaun computes confidence from eight weighted fields and returns a prioritised list of what to ask for next, so a rep with a thin lead knows exactly which two questions would move it. It is computed on demand rather than stored, and snapshotted onto the score timeline whenever a grade changes.
02Worked examples
Three ways it shows up.
- 01
A lead with only a name and phone number can still be Grade B, but at low confidence. The next call is a qualifying call.
- 02
Adding company and designation typically moves confidence more than any other two fields.

03Check it yourself
How to tell where you actually stand.
A score without a confidence attached invites more trust than it has earned.
- 01Take a scored or ranked lead list and check how much is actually known about each entry.
- 02Note which ones are ranked on a couple of fields and which on a full picture.
- 03Treating both as equally reliable is where quiet mistakes begin.
