Assignment Rules

Short definition

The logic that decides which rep owns a new lead, by territory, industry, source, round-robin or grade. A CRM concept; Leadkaun does not implement it.

01In practice

How teams actually use it.

Assignment rules are lead routing made explicit. Without them, leads get claimed by whoever is watching the inbox, which concentrates the best enquiries on the fastest rep rather than the right one, and leaves the rest to age. Rules typically route on territory, industry, source, deal-size band, round-robin or grade, often in combination, with a fallback for anything unmatched. The rule that matters most is that fallback: every lead needs an owner quickly, because an unowned lead is functionally an ignored one. Leadkaun does not implement assignment rules. Assignment here is manual, an admin or manager assigns one lead at a time to a named rep, and imported leads arrive unassigned until someone picks an owner. If you need rules-based routing, it belongs in your CRM. What Leadkaun adds is what happens after ownership: the lead is already graded A–F on arrival, and once owned it takes a ranked position in that rep's Priority Queue.

02Worked examples

Three ways it shows up.

  • 01

A CRM routes real-estate enquiries above ₹1 crore to the senior closer and distributes the rest evenly.

  • 02

In Leadkaun the same lead arrives already graded, and a manager assigns it by hand.

03Check it yourself

How to tell where you actually stand.

Ownership decides speed more often than skill does.

  1. 01Pick ten recent leads and find out how long each waited before someone owned it.
  2. 02Check whether the wait was longer outside business hours or at weekends.
  3. 03Waiting time is the cheapest thing on this list to fix and the least often looked at.
