LeadkaunClose

Close is an excellent calling CRM for US inside-sales teams. In India the conversation happens on WhatsApp, and the bill still arrives in dollars.

What Close is, and where it stops.

Overview

Quick answer

Leadkaun vs Close: which is better?

Close is an inside-sales CRM with calling, SMS, and email baked in, excellent for outbound teams that live on the phone. But it's USD per-seat plus usage-based call/SMS costs, WhatsApp isn't native, and lead grading isn't its model. Leadkaun grades and ranks inbound leads, treats WhatsApp as a first-class signal, and bills flat INR.

Positioning

Close is built for inside-sales SMBs doing high-volume outreach, communication (call/SMS/email) is native, not bolted on. The gaps for Indian B2B: USD per-seat plus usage-based telephony, WhatsApp only via integration, US-centric calling infrastructure, and no opinionated A–F grading engine.

The trade-off

Where Close is strong

  • Built-in calling, SMS, and email (power/predictive dialer on higher tiers)
  • Fast, rep-friendly UI focused on activity throughput
  • Good workflow automation and sequences
  • Transparent published per-seat pricing

Where it falls short here

  • USD per-seat plus usage-based call/SMS costs, expensive for INR budgets
  • WhatsApp is not native, only via third-party integrations
  • No opinionated A–F Fit × Intent × Quality grading with intent decay
  • US/telephony-centric, no lakh/crore UI or Indian phone normalisation
  • No ₹-denominated Missed Opportunity Engine or Morning Brief

Decision

Choose Close if

  • 01Calling volume is your whole motion and you want the dialer native
  • 02Your team and buyers are US-based
  • 03You want power dialling and call coaching in one tool

Choose Leadkaun if

  • 01Your reps close on WhatsApp as much as on calls
  • 02Per-user USD pricing stops making sense past a handful of reps
  • 03You need leads ranked before the dialling starts

03The honest verdict

Where each one genuinely wins.

Both sides

Where Close wins

Close is genuinely excellent for phone-first inside sales. Calling, SMS and email are native rather than bolted on, with power and predictive dialers on higher tiers, a fast activity-focused UI, solid sequence automation, and transparent published per-seat pricing. If your team lives on the dialer and sells by high-volume outreach, Close is purpose-built for that motion.

Where Leadkaun wins

Leadkaun is built around deciding which lead to work next, not around the call itself. It grades leads A–F on Fit, Intent and Quality with intent decay, ranks the Priority Queue in real time, surfaces ₹ at risk, and treats a logged WhatsApp reply as a first-class signal, none of it native to Close. It bills flat in INR with no per-minute usage, and handles Indian phone formats and lakh/crore figures.

Bottom line

If native calling and SMS at volume is your core motion, Close is the better engine. If knowing which lead to call first, and catching the ones going cold matters more, Leadkaun earns its place; calling-heavy teams sometimes keep a dialer or Close and add Leadkaun for grading and prioritisation.

04Total cost

What it costs as the team grows.

Per-seat pricing is cheap at five reps and expensive at fifty. This is the same list price at three team sizes, with nothing converted to flatter us.

Leadkaun bills flat per account, so the figure is a tier lookup, not a multiplication. Seat caps: Starter 10, Growth 30, Scale 75.

Close charges in USD; converted at ₹88 = $1 so both columns are in rupees. Your card rate and FX markup will differ.

Excludes call and SMS usage, roughly $0.02/min plus number fees, which most teams on Close end up paying.

05Switching guide

How teams switch cleanly.

  1. Step 01

    Export from Close

Export leads, contacts, and activity as CSV.

  2. Step 02

    Onboard Leadkaun

Same-day wizard; Indian phones normalise on import.

  3. Step 03

    Keep a dialer if needed

If raw calling volume is core, keep a dialer and add Leadkaun for grading and prioritisation.

  4. Step 04

    Decide

If knowing which lead to call first lifts conversion on the same effort, Leadkaun earns its place.

How this comparison is made

Reviewed 13 Aug 2026

We build one of the two products on this page, so read it accordingly. What we can offer instead of neutrality is a stated method and a section that says where the other tool wins.

Capability claims come from each vendor's own documentation, and where a capability sits behind a higher tier we say so rather than crediting the product as a whole. Pricing is read from the public pricing page at the review date, in the currency each vendor actually charges; where we convert, the rate is printed next to the table rather than buried. Claims about Leadkaun are checked against the shipping code, see our methodology.

Nobody pays for placement here, and none of these links is affiliate-compensated. Where we are the wrong choice, the verdict section says so.
